Lower My Drinking, which is Breaking Free Group’s evidence-based digital platform to address problem drinking at scale through prevention and early intervention, has been commissioned by Cheshire and Merseyside Public Health Collaborative (CHAMPS).
Funded by Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership, this initiative has made Lower My Drinking accessible to 2.5 million residents of Liverpool, Cheshire West and Chester, Cheshire East, Wirral, Sefton, St Helens, Knowsley, Halton, and Warrington.
Dr Jonathan Ward, Manging Director of Breaking Free Group, commented: “We specifically designed Lower My Drinking to help Public Health Directorates and Clinical Commissioning Groups implement a population health approach to preventing alcohol harm through harnessing digital technology. We have seen a significant increase in problem drinking during the pandemic, so it is very exciting to see our platform allowing people across Cheshire and Merseyside to recognise the potential health consequences of their drinking and receive the appropriate intervention to help them take action to cut down.”
