HUMANKIND EXTENDS ITS PARTNERSHIP WITH BREAKING FREE GROUP TO OFFER DIGITAL BEHAVIOUR CHANGE INTERVENTIONS ACROSS ALL ITS SUBSTANCE MISUSE SERVICES

September 2021

Leading health and social care charity Humankind has worked with Breaking Free Group for several years to deliver Breaking Free Online, the leading evidence-based digital solution for addressing alcohol and drug dependence, across its services in Devon, Dorset, North Yorkshire and Staffordshire. As Humankind standardizes its treatment offer, this new long-term partnership will see the implementation of Breaking Free Online being extended to all its substance misuse treatment and recovery services nationwide.

Humankind is committed to reducing deprivation and exclusion and to improving people’s wellbeing by ensuring that everyone has access to fair chances, and the provision of accessible treatment pathways is key to achieving the charity’s mission.

Speaking about the partnership with Breaking Free Online, Manish Nanda, Executive Director of Operations for Humankind, said: “Humankind are always looking at ways we can provide our 85,000-plus service users with innovative treatment and support pathways. We are excited to be expanding our partnership and delivering Breaking Free Online nationwide, as this will ensure that many more people will be able to access the effective behaviour change interventions and be empowered to manage their substance misuse in a way that works for them.”

“We are delighted to further evolve our partnership with Humankind across its growing portfolio of substance misuse services,” said Glyn Davies, Service Development Director at Breaking Free Group. “Their commitment to digital innovation and evidence-based practice is refreshing, especially at a time when treatment services need to respond proactively to the challenges outlined in Dame Carol Black’s independent review of drug policy. Our long-term partnership will ensure Humankind’s service users can benefit 24/7 from behaviour change interventions with high consistency, clinical integrity and treatment fidelity. This will further strengthen and augment the high-quality service provision of Humankind.”
